I enjoyed baking when I was in school and just over a year ago, decided to bake some cookies for the office. However, I enjoyed it so much that it evolved into a weekly event and the office now looks forward to homemade treats every Monday!

Hermits!
The weather in Edinburgh was cold and windy after the new year, hence I wanted to bake something warming and comforting. This recipe is in one of my magazines and it sounded really tasty full of raisins, nuts, ground cinnamon, ground ginger and very little butter!
The sticky dough is rolled out into two 'logs' before baking as above and I just have to cut them up when they come out of the oven! They can called hermits because they can be kept for a long time and meant to be tastier after being 'matured'! However, I can't tell as they were all eaten in a day at the Office as honestly, they taste better than they look!
